VANCOUVER -- Challenger Tim Leavitt showed an early lead in the tight Mayoral race in Vancouver but incumbent Royce Pollard was not ready to concede.
Unoffiicial results from the Clark County elections office Wednesday morning were showing Leavitt ahead of Pollard 54% to 46%, with Pollard trailing by approximately 1,700 votes.

In downtown Vancouver Tuesday night there were two parties. Tim Leavitt hosted a get together at an up and coming new brew house while Royce Pollard gathered friends at a well established pub a few blocks away. At Leavitt's event the crowd wore designer jeans and well tailored suits. Their average age appeared to hover around 35. At Pollard's gathering the crowd arrived in Cadillacs and Buicks with the average age closer to 65. In two parties the candidates differences could not have been any clearer.
